#IndustryInsights - Leanne Woodfull
This week we chatted with award-winning Irish blogger, Leanne Woodfull, all about her amazing career as a leading fashion blogger and how she got started with her platform, Thunder and Threads.

How did you first get into the industry?
I read an article in ELLE magazine when I was in Transition year, aged 16, about blogging and how it was going to be the "next big thing". I decided to give it a whirl - and here we are, 7 years later!
Can you describe a typical work day?
Usually I'm in college either in the morning or afternoon, so it switches up per day. I try and squeeze in as much blogging/social media as I can but it's tough to balance it with college work. I sometimes pop along to the likes of press days and events in between both to see upcoming launches and such!
What motivates you?
Other women really motivate me - whatever their occupation. I love reading about other women's successes and how they go to be where are they are now.
How do you integrate social media into your blogging career?
It's just part of the parcel now as I engage with social media everyday as part of my job; I love photography, so enjoy Instagram. I love engaging in conversation and debates; so I love Twitter. I try and only use platforms I genuinely enjoy using so it doesn't feel like a chore!
What has been your biggest career achievement to date?
When I was given the opportunity to travel around Europe with my fellow blogger friend Helen Anderson last summer, for sure!

Have you any advice for people thinking of entering the industry?
Don't look for an easy way in - laziness has no backbone or longevity. Also, try and stand out - there's nothing exciting about being a carbon copy of anyone else. Embrace your own unique traits and interests.
Is there anyone that influenced you to take this career path?
Susie Bubble, Grace Coddington, Alexa Chung and my Nana really influenced me to delve into the world of fashion and blogging, for sure.
Where do you hope to see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully I'll be well-travelled by then, that's a priority and a big goal for me. I hope to still be self-employed and my own boss - and working in fashion still.

What is your pet peeve about working in the industry?
How little respect some people still have for bloggers, despite the industry booming by the year.
What do you do to relax and unwind after a long day’s work?
Sleep, sleep and more sleep!
